11 Mar Senior Software Engineer, Medical Device
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Medical Device to help build the software that will power our brain-computer interface platform. The software will enable implanted electrode arrays in the brain to perform unprecedented feats and address previously intractable disease states.
We have assembled world-class experts, including several Founding Members of Neuralink, to change what it means to live with brain disease. Led by Benjamin Rapoport, a neurosurgeon and electrical engineer, the founding team has deep expertise in translational neuroscience, electrical engineering, microfabrication, and other aspects of brain-computer interface (BCI) systems.
This position may be based in NYC or the Bay Area, CA.
Responsibilities
- Design software to interface with and process real-time neural data
- Develop and refine the hardware-software interface, digital signal processing, neural decoding, control, and user interface for our initial product
- Maintain quality management and process control necessary for FDA regulatory approval
- Deliver working software packages within defined timelines
- Drive progress and collaborate across domains of hardware, software, and regulatory compliance
Requirements
- 5+ years’ commercial experience, very strong software development skills, and passion for our mission of developing brain-computer interfaces
- Strong medical device industry experience
- Fluent in Python and C/C++
- Experience with code management tools and testing frameworks
- Familiarity with hardware interfaces is a must, digital signal processing would be a plus
- Familiarity with neural data, clinical electrophysiology, or neural decoding would be an advantage but not required
- You should be comfortable with creative problem solving in a startup environment, collaborating, and taking charge of projects
- A track record of delivering on accelerated timelines and budgets, with a demonstrated history of self-directed work within a team is desired
