Clinical Research Coordinator

 

The University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is recruiting for a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator for a research program involving brain-machine interface and neuroprosthetics research for people with motor and sensory impairments. Responsibilities will include:

  • Subject recruitment, screening, and enrollment
  • Coordination of pre and post-surgical research procedures across clinical departments within UPMC
  • Scheduling of individual patient testing sessions for significant risk protocols
  • Facilitate communication between study participants, patients, the investigators, and the UPMC facilities that will be included as part of this research program.

 

Ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders is extremely important. This individual will track compliance with IRB and study sponsor regulations, and help facilitate the submission of new protocols to the IRB and Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining testing supply inventory and other resources necessary for clinical testing in the lab.

  • A bachelors degree in the sciences, health sciences, or an allied health profession and 2-3 years of prior human studies clinical research experience and IRB experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication (both written and oral) and organizational skills, as well as familiarity with IRB and HIPAA regulations, will be important for success in this position.
