The Opportunity
Synaptive has a 12-month contract opportunity for an entry level System Test specialist. We’re looking for someone eager to become a product expert, with the skills to be a shrewd investigator, a resourceful problem-solver, and a supportive team member. Someone who can embed themselves within a dynamic design and development team and put their creative testing skills to work.
What You’ll Do
- Take ownership of various verification and validation (V&V) activities throughout all stages of product development
- Work closely with the development team to understand system design in order to effectively design, develop, and execute test protocols
- Complete documentation for test protocols, results, and reports
- Use exploratory test techniques to provide early testing feedback throughout the design and development process
- Participate in the assessment of potential hazards and devise appropriate tests to verify mitigation of identified risks
- Ensure traceability between test reports and system requirements
- Assist with creating release-specific test plans and managing regression test suites that evolves as the product changes over time
- Assist with user acceptance testing with representative users and clinical evaluators
- Identify and develop processes to optimize the testing process at a system level; write scripts to automate and/or assist computer-based test activities
- Accurately report and track product defects; verify bug fixes while ensuring other areas of product functionality aren’t compromised
- Investigate customer issues as needed, to perform root cause analysis and evaluate solutions
- Assist with the development of production/service processes (e.g. writing work instructions, deployment procedures)
- Work closely with multiple teams to ensure quality and timely product delivery
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent
- Strong foundation in computers and technology, including power user command of Windows OS
- Understanding of programming fundamentals for scripting purposes
It’d Be Amazing If You Had
- Experience with developing or testing user-facing software or software-driven products in a professional environment, previous co-op term or project
- Experience with robotics, optical components or optical diagnostic equipment
- Understanding of programming fundamentals for scripting purposes
- Knowledge of any of the following standards: IEC 60601, ISO 13485, ISO 14971
- Experience with the medical device product development lifecycle
