Huma is dedicated to the development and implementation of novel analytical image processing methods applicable for oncology studies. Despite the emergence of Computer-assisted diagnosis ecosystems alongside advances in 3-dimensional microscopy imaging, existing approaches fail to take full advantage of the vast amounts of other data available in modern clinical practice. We are looking for an awesome biomedical imaging scientist to join our AI team and technically lead an important scientific program in Huma.

By joining Huma in this role, you will manage a challenging and novel program of work, liaise closely with external stakeholders and support our AI researchers to build groundbreaking personalised medicine.

 

This role can be based in the UK, Germany, Switzerland or Italy.

 

Your mission

  • Build analytic models at the intersection of radiomics and machine learning for cancer research
  • Assist in monitoring data quality issues and collaborate with the different stakeholders to develop automated systems and tools to process, clean, and verify data integrity
  • Communicate the relevant CT-radiomics features with clinical team and assist the biological and diagnostic interpretation of the observed patterns in the study cohort
  • Collaborate with engineers to integrate algorithms efficiently with backend production services and monitor them after launch
  • Improve and help define the AI team’s processes and tooling

 

From day one in this role we’ll expect you to have

  • A PhD in computer science, machine learning, neuroscience, mathematics or a similar technical field
  • 5+ years experience with medical imaging instruments and methods (CT in particular and knowledge of MRI, PET, etc.)
  • Experience with Inferential ML (k-means, KNN, decision trees, SVM, Bayesian/graphical models, Gaussian process, etc.)
  • A strong understanding of deep learning fundamentals (CNN, RNN, attention/memory, LSTM, ResNet, etc.)
  • Proficiency in programming (good command of Python, C and C++, MATLAB, and Linux)
  • The ability to follow papers/theory and adapt associated models
  • Excellent capability to analyze and interpret statistical data and to communicate data in a clear, concise manner

 

It’s great, but not required, if you have

  • Clinical knowledge of oncology
  • A strong understanding of regulatory and compliance for software as a medical devices
