Neuromatch is hiring a visionary CEO to elevate our massive scale grassroots teaching, learning, and communication organization to the next level. In two years, Neuromatch Academy (NMA) has trained thousands of scientists from more than 150 countries in intensive interactive virtual small groups, and is recognized globally as a new leading pioneer in higher education. Likewise, Neuromatch Conference (NMC) brings together thousands of participants for online conferences, facilitating scientific communication and networking. Collectively, in less than 48 months, the Neuromatch community has raised over $1 million and grown to over 15,000 participants and hundreds of organizers. Neuromatch is an all-volunteer organization innovating at massive speed and is supported by most of the major nonprofit and corporate funders in neuroscience, machine learning, and related fields. This is a chance for a leader to grow a high energy organization into a major player in global science.

Our CEO will lead the organization in the next phase of development to create innovative and inclusive educational and networking opportunities for the worldwide scientific community regardless of geographic location or financial means. 

Responsibilities 

• Manage multimillion dollar fundraising with the long-term goal of endowing Neuromatch
• Develop and implement plans to expand the organization in new directions
• Manage teams for NMA, NMC, and other new ventures 
• Build and nurture relationships with partners 
• Recruit and lead executive team 
• Manage financial and administrative functions 
• Interface with legal and insurance services/suppliers 
• Partner with our engaged passionate board of directors as a board member
• Run regular board meetings 
• Design and implement multi year strategy in concert with the board 
• Nourish and grow our fun and vibrant community 

Desired background 

• Familiarity with academic science and science education 
• Familiarity with fundraising 
• Personal confidence, ambition, and vision

• Organizational zeal
