Data Scientist (f/x/m) — Digital Biomarkers and Digital Drugs
Berlin · Full time
Easy access to prescription digital therapeutics (PTD) for everyone: The future of digital medicine has begun. Believe it or not, it happened in Germany, where PTD are called DiGAs (Digital Health Applications). We, Newsenselab, are at the forefront of this exciting development.
Newsenselab markets the DiGA M-sense Migraine and develops a new DiGA for fatigue related diseases. We already have collected data from over 1 million headache attacks and 200 million additional surrounding data points. The rate at which we are collecting clinical meaningful data is mind blowing. Newsenselab’s founding idea was to use math and data to reimagine Digital Medicine for chronic episodic disorders of the brain. This is where you come in.
- You are able to translate data into actionable insights to empower the clinical and development team to improve the product.
- You enjoy exploratory data analysis and visualization to communicate data quality and reliability to multidisciplinary teams of experts, so that together we recognize how to add and capture value beyond the current product’s capabilities.
- You want to be on the forefront of data science and machine learning in a healthcare setting and you know about the latest trends in data science and machine learning. Experience with temporally structured data (e.g., assimilating data into equations of motion to estimate disease progression) is a plus.

You are well versed in machine learning and data assimilation, have worked at research institutes or celebrated your first successes in industry in recent years and are looking forward to the challenge of revolutionizing medicine.
- Relevant work experience or a PhD in the field of Data Science.
- Strong statistical knowledge
- Solid knowledge of R or Python (libraries like pandas, numpy and sklearn)
- Familiarity with SQL
- High willingness to cooperate and to continuously improve your skills.
- Knowledge in building maintainable and replicable code is a plus.

About us
At our company, more than 25 people work together to make life with a chronic disease easier with digital health applications. With “M-sense Migraine”, we have developed the first digital health app against migraine officially approved by the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM). Now we want to reach and help as many people with migraine and other chronic diseases as possible. To do this, we want to expand our marketing, develop products for other indications, and grow beyond Germany. We stand for research-based development that makes us internationally competitive and ensures our long-term success.
We work together based on the following values:
Personal Growth
Everyone can take on responsibility from the start, learn from those around them and constantly improve. We help you build on your strengths and appreciate when you share your expertise, realize your ambitions and bring your own interests to your work.
Impact
Your work makes a difference! We want to effectively and sustainably improve treatment options for people with chronic illnesses where conditions can change day by day, empowering them to become experts themselves while getting the best help from healthcare professionals. We set our priorities to identify problems and solve them to make medicine more precise.
Work-Health-Harmony
Health does not begin with medicines and medical devices, but with you. That’s why we value a work atmosphere that promotes mental and physical well-being and take responsibility for the impact on the people directly around us. We also value organizational health as a business advantage. Organizational health ranges from integrity to flexible working hours and locations.
Love for Science
Science is the basis of our work. Clinical effectiveness and a strong scientific foundation are central to product development and all our processes. We make decisions based on data, not opinions. We invest in advancing research through data that advances our understanding of the underlying biology of disease and collaborates with renowned partners to create a new medicine.
