The Department of Bioengineering is seeking two postdoctoral associates to conduct neural engineering research with a focus on advancing implantable neural interface technologies for neural recording, electrical and chemical modulation, and biosensing within the neural tissue. The main responsibilities will include project management, coordinating with collaborators, performing experiments in some of the following areas: device fabrication, in vitro and in vivo testing using multimodal analysis tools such as electrochemical and materials characterization, cell culture, confocal and 2 photon imaging and electrophysiology. The incumbents will be responsible for data analysis, writing progress reports and manuscripts. The incumbents will also be expected to help train graduate students and write grant proposals and complete other assignments that the principal investigator may request.
