At OpenBCI we are defining the next generation of human-computer interfaces. We are a rapidly growing team of ambitious engineers, designers, and scientists who care deeply about how humans will evolve with technology. We are seeking an experienced technical leader with a proven track record of success to join the executive team as the Chief Technology Officer. This individual will be responsible for managing the technical teams at OpenBCI. Additionally, this individual will help lead company strategy and be heavily involved in future fundraising initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities
- Develop technical aspects of the company’s strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals
- Develop, implement, and maintain a short and long term strategic technology, product, and data roadmap in support of company business goals and objectives
- Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage
- Monitor KPIs and budgets to assess technological performance
- Use customer and community feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology
- Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors
- Manage relationships and evaluate performance of manufacturing partners
Preferred Skills
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of non-invasive electrophysiological data processing (EMG, ECG, EEG)
- Experience with software development for AR/VR and HMDs
- In-depth knowledge of developing clinical and medical devices and services
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CTO or similar leadership role
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Proven experience with bringing hardware and software products from prototype to production
- Familiarity with hardware development, embedded systems, and shipping physical products at quantities of 10,000 units or more
- Familiarity with software development and productization
- Understanding of budgets and business-planning
- Ability to conduct technological analyses and research
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve interpersonal conflict
- Leadership and organizational abilities
