UX Researcher

Synchron is developing a suite of products that convert raw neural signals into impactful, easy-to-use experiences for patients and caregivers.

We are looking to hire an experienced UX Researcher. You will be responsible for defining and executing a range of user research initiatives to help shape the next generation of neural interface interactions.

Responsibilities

  • High level: Partner with Product and Engineering to design and develop our next generation user experiences and interfaces
  • Propose, design, and conduct mixed method user-centered research studies on concurrent projects across a diverse user landscape
  • Apply Human Factors Engineering (HFE) / Usability Engineering techniques to all stages of product development from design to clinical trials to market launch 
  • Establish standardized UX metrics, conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on results, and present consolidated learnings/insights to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Marketing to translate research findings into product roadmaps
  • Stay up-to-date on latest UX publications, standards, and methods as they relate to the neural interface field 

 

Minimal Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Psychology, or Sociology
  • 4+ years in a UX research role at a start-up, tech company, or medical device company
  • Experience with mixed method product user research design and execution, including but not limited to interviews, usability engineering, human factors analysis, surveys
  • Proactive, motivated, efficient individual with demonstrated interest in the BCI/neural interface space

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a related field
  • Experience working with clinicians, physicians, people with disabilities, and caregivers
  • Experience with applications of biometric data as device input types
  • Previous design work with medical device companion applications
