Your role: Senior Data Scientist
Responsibilities:
- Support Biosignals Engineering Lead in designing and evaluating new machine learning techniques in processing EEG Data
- Support the Biosignals Engineering Lead in the definition, design, and execution of experiment-based research endeavours
- Interact with research labs in support of research collaboration
- Characterize and test different types of visual stimuli to optimize cognitive responses
- Create proof of concepts utilizing existing pipelines to demonstrate and compare efficacy of proposed techniques
- Collaborate with other developers on the team to build and support cloud-based machine learning pipelines
NOTE: this position requires frequent in-person/on-site collaboration with our Toronto team
The ideal candidate has:
- Masters or PhD degree related to machine learning, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or signal processing domains preferred
- Minimum 3 years experience writing code in Python or C/C++especially for signal analysis
- Experience in industry with a demonstrated contribution to a commercially available product is an asset
- Experience with commercial C/C++ digital signal processing libraries on Intel and/or ARM platforms is an asset
- Familiarity with both statistical and neural machine learning techniques, as well as basic signal processing techniques
- Detailed under-the-hood understandings of typical machine learning frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn
- Has prior experience working with visual evoked potentials (VEPs)
- Experience with other biophysiological signals (EMG, ECG, EOG) is an asset
- Demonstrated research using resource-constrained devices in prior work is an asset
