The Independent Max Planck Research Group “Neural & Computational Basis of Learning, Memory and Decision Making” at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, led by Dr. Nicolas Schuck, seeks applicants for 1 Postdoctoral Researcher (E 13 TVöD; 39 hours per week).

Job description

Our group looks for a postdoctoral candidate in the field of cognitive neuroscience as part of an ERC-funded research project. The project will focus on investigating the effects of ageing on memory processes, such as replay, using advanced fMRI analysis techniques.

Requirements

• Applicants need to hold (or expect to hold by the start of the contract) a doctorate in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology, Computer Science or related disciplines, and should have experience with using functional neuroimaging, behavioral and/or computational methods.
• A record of publishing in peer-reviewed neuroscientific journals and familiarity with multivariate fMRI analysis techniques, on topics related to aging neuroscience, are highly beneficial.
• In addition, the ability to work independently and high proficiency of the English language are essential.
• Applications from more experienced candidates with previous postdoctoral experience are welcome and salary scales can be adapted accordingly.

The position will last for a minimum of 2 years with the possibility of contract extension pending satisfactory performance. The position is available from June 1, 2022 on. Later start dates are possible, but long delays in commencing the project are less desirable.
