Profile

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with a background in clinical psychology or neuropsychology to join our Clinical Neuroscience department. The position will be initially framed within a large 3 years’ R&D project funded by the Spanish Government, where Bitbrain with 14 other partners will develop new neurotechnology for the early diagnosis and treatment of diseases with high prevalence among the elderly.

In particular, Bitbrain will be responsible for sleep disorders and Dementia/Alzheimer’s and work will be carried out in Zaragoza (Spain) in an interdisciplinary R&D department.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Clinical Psychologist or Neuropsychologist with a Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience, Clinical Psychology, or similar.
  • Strong background in the mechanisms of cognitive decline and experience with the elderly and mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and/or Alzheimer’s.
  • Understanding of EEG and sleep (desired) for clinical neuropsychology research.
  • Strong background in the design and implementation of research and clinical studies with experience with standard clinical scales for cognitive evaluation.
  • Project management skills.
  • Problem-solving and good communications skills to interact internally and externally.
  • Advanced English skills in reading, writing, and speaking to interact with the research team.
  • Spanish language skills are a must since the candidate will have to interact with patients and clinicians.

 

Main responsibilities:

The candidate will lead the research line of cognitive decline and dementia, and their main tasks will be:

  • Coordination of the dementia innovation program in Bitbrain and its integration within the R&D ecosystem of the company.
  • Design and implementation of at least 3 clinical studies involving cutting-edge neurotechnology for the diagnosis and/or treatment of mild cognitive deterioration, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Participation in the writing of private/public grant proposals, and research papers or patents that derive from the studies conducted.
  • Networking and relations with clinicians, supervision of students and other psychologists/therapists, and other responsibilities related to managing the innovation program.
