The Neurocognitive Development Laboratory at the University of Maryland, College Park, (http://www.ncdl.umd.edu) is searching for a postdoctoral associate to work on the HBCD, Healthy Brain and Cognitive Development study, a national study recruiting women during pregnancy and following their infants through the first five years of their lives. https://heal.nih.gov/research/infants-and-children/healthy-brain
The position is to begin Spring or Summer of 2022 and is for two years, with the possibility of an extension depending on grant funding.
One of the foci of the HBCD study is multi-modal brain imaging including MRI. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with collection, initial processing and quality control of MRI data at the University of Maryland site. Other duties will include working with research assistants, graduate and undergraduate students. Position qualifications include:
- a PhD in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or a related field;
- experience in collecting and processing MRI data, programming experience and knowledge of advanced statistical method,
- mastery of English speaking and writing,
- reliable transportation, and
- experience working with human subjects are required.
- Successful candidates must have keen attention to detail;
- ability to work professionally with parents and children; and
- strong organization, problem solving, and analytic skills.
- Experience with preparation of scientific manuscripts or grant applications is strongly preferred.
