Your role: Senior Embedded Systems & Firmware Engineer – Wearable Medical Devices
Scope of Responsibilities
- Specify, develop, maintain and optimize embedded ARM firmware for wearables
- Support for real-time OS in memory and CPU-constrained device
- Performance optimization and hardening of firmware
- Optimization of data throughput over interfaces including Bluetooth LE, serial and USB
- Support for device drivers (I2S, I2C, SPI)
- Support for embedded file system
- Wearable evolution, including evaluation of new peripherals and SOCs
- Work with the Biosignals team to provide a platform for ongoing evolution of biosignals processing
- Team leadership and mentorship including code/design review
Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years experience in embedded systems
- 2 yrs Bluetooth LE
- 5 yrs C++
- Embedded debugging (e.g. Segger)
- Realtime operating systems
- CMSIS DSP experience an asset
- Healthcare industry experience an asset
Important Details
- Position must be based in Toronto or Santa Barbara
- Position can be partly remote, but work hours are Eastern time
- Remote applicants MUST be eligible to work in Canada or USA for several weeks at a time
- Periodic travel to Toronto Ontario and/or Santa Barbara California will be required
