The Opportunity
The warehouse and logistics associate will be responsible for
- Implementation of continuous improvement activities related to logistical and warehousing of incoming/outgoing of parts, subassemblies, and finished goods.
- Warehouse related activities including receiving, dispatching as well as storing materials, assemblies and FG plus managing all inventory accuracy related functions.
- Logistics arrangement as well as Customs related paperwork and documents.
What You’ll Do
- Receives and stocks materials and products from suppliers, reconciles purchase orders with receiving documents
- Move materials and products around warehouse, operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (Equipment that may be utilized include forklifts and pallet jacks)
- Proceed packing for instruments/finished goods/materials
- Deals with materials and products internal and external movements including put away, kitting, non-conformance and return etc.
- Perform daily cycle count and annual physical count to ensure accurate inventory and data integrity
- Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness, provides support in the planning of the warehouse layout
- Develop and maintain a master list of tariff classifications, with maintaining the applicable supporting documentation for classification
- Update and maintain material master database with HTS/HS and provide regular updates to Synaptive Medical Inc (SMI) Customs Broker
- Monitor US and Canadian customs publications for relevant changes
- Responsible for the timely renewal and maintenance of Customs related certificates for all third-party products including country of origin validation for SMIs ‘make assemblies’
- Respond to internal and external enquiries regarding classification, duty rates, documentation requirements, or other import related matters
- Develop and manage customs related processes based on SMI policies for CA and U.S. government requirements, document related procedures and training materials, and provide oversight of SMI customs broker activities
- Develop and manage Logistics suppliers, complete any business required logistics requirement, optimize the supply chain with the goal of increasing value for SMI
- Learn, understand and compile with all company policies. Adhere to all safety & GMP procedures in the performance of job duties
- Perform other tasks as assigned
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 3 years or more of experience in WH operation, Inventory management, Receiving, Customs and Brokerage and Shipping
- Enrolled or Completed CSCB – Certified Customs Specialist Program (Preferred but not required)
- Good Comprehension of the regulatory laws governing import/export
- Experience in a regulated industry (preferably medical device industry)
- Experience & knowledge in Lean Manufacturing
- Proven knowledge and experience of ERP software
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment. And certification to operate a lift-truck (preferred but not required)

Special Requirements:
- Moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs) required.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and own vehicle (preferred but not required)
