Neuralink is seeking a motivated individual for the role of Histology Technologist / Technician. The successful candidate will integrate into an established team and assist with all aspects of the Histological process, ranging from tissue grossing, processing, embedding, and finally, primary/speciality staining. Ample opportunity to make impactful contributions in a nimble start-up like environment. This position reports to Senior Level Histotechnologist.

 

About you: 

  • Performing large animal necropsy, tissue handling and grossing for pathology studies under GLP (15%)
  • Performing routine histological tissue processing, embedding and microtomy/cryotomy (40%)
  • Performing histological stains including immunohistochemistry, microscopic imaging, data analysis, and writing reports (20%)
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing reagents, performing quality control tests, keeping records and inventories (30%)
  • Participating in feedback and coordinating with other teams (5%)

 

Key qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Biology, Neuroscience, Immunology or a related field, with 2+ years of laboratory experience
  • Possess working knowledge of basic anatomic/physiology principles
  • Experience with Basic laboratory techniques/practices (Dilutions, Aseptic technique, etc)
  • Ability to carry out and document experiments consistently, according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs)
  • Capacity to work as a contributing team member within a fast moving/dynamic regulated environment
  • Extensive experience with entry/manipulation of data within large datasets
  • Experience with daily QA/QC within a diagnostic/research laboratory environment

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1+ years of conducting histology and immunohistochemistry experiments in an industrial and/or clinical setting
  • Experience with animal necropsy, tissue handling, and grossing procedures
  • Experience with a variety of routine/specialized histology stains including Immunoperoxidase assays
  • Experience with whole slide imaging including analysis with ImageJ or other quantitative pathology tools
  • Experience working within GLP regulations
  • Certification as Histotechnician/Histotechnologist (ASCP) is considered a plus but not required
