Job Description:
The Spatial Cognition and Navigational Neuroscience (SCANN) Laboratory at the University of Florida, directed by Dr. Steven Weisberg, is hiring a full-time NIH-funded research assistant to help conduct research related to the cognitive neuroscience of spatial navigation. The SCANN lab uses behavioral cognitive psychology methods in desktop and immersive virtual reality, structural MRI, and univariate and multivariate approaches to fMRI data to determine the behavioral and neural underpinnings of human navigation behavior. The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical and organizational support to the lab. The research assistant will also have the opportunity to be a collaborator in research that will be presented at conferences and published in journals. Organizational skills and experience working with human subject research and fMRI are a significant plus.
Expected Salary: The salary range is $12 to $15 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Organizational skills and experience working with human subject research and fMRI are a significant plus.
