Purpose of function:

We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer who is comfortable in a multidisciplinary environment and has strong full stack development experience. In this position, you will lead the design, implementation and deployment of our external and internal data platforms. The role will involve all aspects of software engineering, including back-end development, data engineering, infrastructure, and front-end engineering. A successful candidate will have experience leading development of a webapp, and in-depth technical knowledge of infrastructures involving complex data workflows. The candidate will work alongside Data scientists, Neuroscientists, Engineers (Electrical, Mechanical, Embedded, Biomedical) and Clinical scientists to create the next generation of minimal invasive neural interfaces. Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in data science, biotechnology or medical devices.

Main Responsibilities:

• Build a data platform from scratch
• Pushing forward the design and implementation of the software platform
• Planning deployments and feature developments
• Backend Web Development: API design, documentation and implementation, Services design/integration, testing
• Database design and maintenance, scalability and performance problems
• Working in partnership with the data scientists to deliver the technology roadmap

Basic Qualifications:

• Computer Science degree or equivalent
• 5+ years experience in back-end development
• Strong product Python programming
• Advanced experience with at least one cloud provider among AWS, GCP and Azure
• Advance experience with databases (SQL/noSQL)
• Strong algorithmic and data-structure background
• Ability to design and deliver on a structured release plan
• Fluent in English (company language)

Preferred:

• Knowledge in Data Science, AI and Machine Learning
• Experience with sensitive data or biotechnology
• Knowledge of mobile application implementation and frontend development
• Experience interacting with a multi-disciplinary, cross-functional team
• Experience working in a team with agile practices
