Process/Integration Engineer

Process/Integration Engineer

Mountain View, CA      ·       Full time

Description

We are seeking a Process/Integration Engineer to work on the design and integration of core components of our brain-computer interface (BCI). You’ll design and perform hands-on development of semiconductor and/or MEMS fabrication and integration processes, to execute on our high-performance electrode array.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to join our core team to help to shape the future of our company. Your work will help advance our product to commercialization so that we can improve the lives of patients who live with neurological disorders in a matter of months and years, not decades.

This position will be on-site in Mountain View. We are unable to consider remote workers.

For more detail on our work, see our preprint here: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2022.01.02…

You will:

  • Design and perform hands-on development of semiconductor and/or MEMS processes contributing to a well-defined application that has interesting constraints.
  • Complete hands-on assembly, integration and testing tasks on the key interface between our electrode array and the rest of our BCI.
  • Collaborate with industry leading manufacturing partners on fabrication of some components of our device.
  • Participate in detailed, collaborative discussions about the impact of your designs on the overall BCI design. Such discussions are driven by the excellent, substantial feedback loop generated by our rigorous experiment schedule.
  • Collaborate with the rest of our team to publish and present our work.
  • Communicate project updates on progress, risks, options, barriers and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Create and update end-user technical documentation, product specifications and vendor procedures.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in design and execution of semiconductor and/or MEMS manufacturing processes: wet etch, dry etch, thin-film deposition, lithography, mask layout.
  • Expertise in semiconductor and/or MEMS assembly and packaging technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with metrology related to semiconductor manufacturing, assembly, and packaging.
  • Demonstrated history of self-directed work with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Track record of delivering on accelerated timelines and budgets.
