Position Overview

Blackrock Neurotech is looking for a product manager to lead the strategy and execution of brain computer interface products through all lifecycle phases. This person will serve as the product’s “general manager” – ensuring all aspects of product success are managed:  opportunity identification, market assessment, technical and clinical analysis, value proposition, business case, business model, product requirements, positioning, market launch, post launch adjustments, and product retirement.

 

Key Qualifications

  • B.S. Engineering or Biological Sciences
  • Minimum of 5 years in Product Management positions
  • Ideally, minimum of 3 years in medical device industry
  • Upstream marketing experience
  • Neuro market experience preferred
  • Experience with implantable devices is preferred but not required
  • Experience working with medical software or systems with a software component is preferred but not required
  • Ability to quickly understand clinical knowledge and technical concepts
  • Job location: Blackrock Neurotech is headquartered in Salt Lake City. Preference is for position to be there. Remote position and relocation assistance can be considered.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Interfaces early with Upstream Marketing to define the product concept based on market analysis on targeted opportunities
  • Drives the business case and business model for the product in collaboration with sales and finance
  • Serves as company’s subject matter expert on product features, performance, clinical value, customer value, and market opportunity
  • Assesses strategic fit with company strategy
  • Continually sizes up threats to product success – whether they are technical, market, or business threats – and collaborates with appropriate functional experts to address them rapidly
  • Builds long-term vision for product evolution and clinical application to optimize return on investment
  • Presents product strategy to management and provides ongoing progress updates
  • Sits on product development core team along with Project Manager, Lead Engineer, and Sales Engineer
  • Sets strategy and product positioning for market launch in collaboration with Marketing and Sales
  • Supports Sales as needed in customer meetings
  • Attends industry conferences and events to gather market insights and build relationships with customers and industry partners
  • Contributes to the company’s broader product portfolio strategy and overall business strategy
  • Collaborates with Sales, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Finance, and other groups to ensure overall coordination and execution of project deliverables and schedules
  • Ability to influence and align internal stakeholders
  • Contributes to other business and strategic initiatives as needed
