Description

The Department of Neuroscience in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a term faculty appointment for Academic Year 2022-2023 at the rank of Professorial Lecturer. The appointment is a 9-month term position with possibility of renewal and will commence on August 29, 2022.

The successful applicant will be required to teach two courses each semester (fall and spring) in basic neuroscience, including undergraduate Behavioral Neuroscience with laboratory and advanced undergraduate and graduate seminars in their area of specialization. The applicant will also be expected to serve as general laboratory manager for the neuroscience undergraduate major. All faculty are expected to hold office hours and participate in School and University activities and service. Salary is competitive. Qualifications

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or a closely related field and should have teaching experience in the neurosciences, as well as strong organizational skills and proficiency in developing and executing laboratory curriculum and pedagogy.
