Scope of Position
The Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State University is committed to enhancing the quality of care that our patients receive. The EMG supervisor functions as an integral member of the treatment team of care providers in the lab, cultivating a culture of collaboration, enthusiasm and mutual respect. The team of technicians provide patient care and supportive services that are directed at achieving quality patient outcomes, improving services levels and decreasing costs. Services provided include outpatient care five days a week.
The supervisor is responsible for promoting efficient and effective care management within a service aligned team. He / she is responsible for assuring quality medical records documentation and quality and timely throughput for patients awaiting services. The supervisor works closely with the Administrator to assure innovative strategies are used positively to impact patient care, throughput, achieve patient outcomes, improve service performance, reimbursement and costs.
Position Summary
Assumes overall administrative responsibilities and directs the programs and personnel related to the EMG services line. In collaboration with the Associate Director of Clinical Operations and EMG Medical Director, the supervisor is responsible for the assessment and maintenance of the quality aspects of EMG. Assists the Associate Director of Clinical Operations and Medical Director in the throughput operation of the clinical laboratories and oversees human resource activities. The supervisor assists with developing and implementing performance initiatives to ensure optimal patient outcomes and patient satisfaction. The supervisor will also be responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, direction, and implementation / modification of existing clinical programs of these services as they relate to the Medical Center.
Requires:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or training and experience in Neurophysiology Management considered. Minimum of 3 years
- Management/supervisory and leadership experience preferred.
- Current registry in one of the modalities is required:
- Registered Nerve Conduction Technologist (RNCST)
- Registered Electroencephalogram Technologist (REEGT)
- Registered Evoked Potential Technologist (R. EP T)
- Certified Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM)
- Registry in two or more modalities is preferred
