Electrical Engineer – Construction and Facilities

Designing/building facilities and infrastructure are key to enabling us to scale. We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our facilities team in Austin, TX. You will play a pivotal role in the design of our facilities and infrastructure. This position requires a highly organized mindset, a passion for driving multi-disciplinary projects, and an ability to perform at a high level on a consistent basis in a start-up environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform design, drafting, and basic 3D modeling using AutoCAD and/or Revit for electrical systems including power, lighting, security, telecom, etc. for a variety of project types including office, laboratory, clean room, manufacturing, warehouse, data center, vivarium, and animal care facilities.
  • Utilize National Electric Code and other relevant codes to create compliant designs
  • Interface and collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines
  • Interface with the Neuralink construction team for constructability reviews
  • Create full construction drawing packages
  • Perform submittal and shop drawing reviews
  • Respond to RFI’s
  • Interface with construction trades and perform regular field walks to review installation progress and adherence to design

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and evidence of exceptional ability
  • Professional Engineering license: current Texas license, or the ability to obtain a Texas license
  • Expert knowledge of AutoCAD and/or REVIT MEP
  • Working knowledge of industry software such as Microsoft products, COMcheck, SKM electrical system analysis for Short Circuit, Voltage Drop, and Electrical Breaker Sizing; and Visual
  • Strong desire to be a part of a world-class team focused on achieving amazing results
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
