We’re looking for a Senior Director, Membership and Lifecycle to join our Content and Membership team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise and experience in creating innovative and engaging cross-channel lifecycle programs. This person has proven success in improving metrics at key moments such as acquisition, onboarding, and winback, and has developed roadmaps to continuously innovate, all with an empathetic, member-centric approach.
This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City Area, but we are open to other locations in the US.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and own the overarching lifecycle strategy, with always-on programs and campaigns that improve NPS, increase retention, and increase LTV
- Engage and nurture leads and members by creating personalized communication strategies across channels such as email, in-app, and SMS
- Test and iterate programs at key inflection points, such as member onboarding, trial expiration, and winback
- Craft innovative loyalty programs and member experiences that educate and/or delight our members
- Drive effective reporting and analytics
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of lifecycle marketers and analysts
- Work closely with the editorial and production teams to execute on the creative for all programs
- Partner with Customer Success, Product, B2B, and other teams to execute on important cross-functional initiatives
Requirements
- 10 years of relevant work experience, including 5+ years leading a team, and ideally some experience with a membership-based product
- Proven ability leading the development of data-driven lifecycle programs from strategy-to-execution, with specific experience in building sophisticated segmentation and trigger-based campaigns across multiple channels
- High level of empathy for target members, and a keen understanding of building and catering to member journeys
- Knowledge and experience with engagement tools (e.g., Braze) and BI tools (e.g., Snowflake, Tableau)
- Team player who is willing to roll sleeves up with a no-task-is-too small attitude
- Ability to manage time and priorities effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous startup environment
