Atlantic Health System is seeking a FULL TIME Neuroscience Specialist at Overlook Medical Center for the Electroneurodiagnostics (EEG) department working 7AM-3PM shift primarily, 5 times per week with weekends as required.
Job Requirements
- As the Neuroscience Specialist in the Epilepsy Program, responsibilities will encompass facilitating the administrative and technical aspects of the Epilepsy surgical program including organizing and leading all patient management conferences, maintaining a database of all active surgical patients, organize and assist in the planning for both Stereo EEG and conventional intracranial implantations, act as IONM technologist during all intracranial implantations for ensuring electrode recording integrity, learn and provide technical support for ROSA Stereo EEG robot, and ensure all long-term intracranial EEGs are setup and maintained as per department policies. The surgical program of the Epilepsy department includes both adult and pediatric patients at Overlook and Morristown Medical Centers.
- Responsibilities also include Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IONM) during assigned craniotomy surgical cases, facilitating all billing needs for IONM services done at AHS, and working with the OR team at Overlook and Morristown to ensure a consistent supply of IONM hardware is kept.
- Must be able to develop and maintain solid relationships with neurosurgeon, neurophysiologist and epileptologist partners to ensure trust in department quality and reliability.
- The Neuroscience Specialist will also learn and assist in the Magnetoencephalography laboratory at Overlook to record and process outpatient MEG studies. Integration of responsibilities with the 24/7 EEG telemetry center will also be required.
- Must be able to establish and keep clear and relevant quality metrics to share with physician and administrative partners, including the Epilepsy Program Manager. Must be proficient in computer usage, including working within patient EMR records and advanced Excel techniques.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Graduate from an accredited Neurodiagnostic Program
- An Associate degree or higher is required
License/Certifications
- Active R.EEG T. and CNIM credentials fromm ABReT, the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists required
Relevant Experience
- 3 years of experience in IONM and Neurodiagnostics preferred
