Location:                            Salt Lake City, Utah 

 

Position Overview

Blackrock Microsystems is seeking an Electrical Engineer who will develop prototype electronic designs for R&D, support manufacturing with design of products, test equipment, and provide troubleshooting. They will support development of the quality control system and complete projects following our design control process, ensuring that projects are completed in a cost-effective and timely manner.

 

Qualification Requirements

  • Requires a B.S. in Electrical, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent
  • Requires 5 years of experience as an industry electrical engineer
  • Must be proficient with electronic testing equipment
  • Analog/digital electronic PCB design
  • Experience with FPGA design using Verilog / System Verilog
  • Familiarity with multiple communication protocols such as SPI/I2C/PCI-e
  • Experience with microcontroller design using C/C++
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Must have strong collaboration skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must have excellent reading, writing and communication skills in the English language
  • Must be thorough and detail oriented

 

Ideal Competencies

  • Experience in an FDA-regulated environment
  • Experience designing medical devices for IEC 60601-1 Electrical Safety Standards
  • Experience with PCB CAD/CAE software
  • M.S. in Electrical, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Developing new products from concept through released product stages, adhering to an FDA-regulated work environment
  • Designing and testing mixed-signal PCBs with wireless communication
  • Coordinating efforts between the company and senior R&D staff
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving
