Neuralink is developing high-bandwidth brain-computer interfaces (BCI) to help those with brain injuries in the near term and reduce AI risk to humanity in the long term. Implant technology and our ability to manufacture high-quality implants in volume at low cost are at the core of enabling this vision. As a Cleanroom Specialist for the Implant team, you will work in our in-house cleanroom manufacturing thin-film microelectrode arrays for our implants, collaborating with engineers to maintain equipment and processes within spec and to improve quality and throughput, and as such you will be instrumental in ramping production and accelerating Neuralink’s progress.
Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment such as reactive ion etcher, e-beam evaporator, sputter physical vapor deposition system, plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition, photoresist spin coater, mask aligner, and wet sink
- Troubleshoot and maintain equipment calibration and performance
- Ensure product quality and conformance to design requirements
- Collaborate with engineers to refine, troubleshoot, and improve processes
- Assist in the data collection and analysis of throughput, quality, and repeatability of manufacturing processes
- Implement process improvements to the production line
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation
- Keep a clean, organized, and thoroughly maintained workspace
About you:
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate
- 2+ years of hands on experience building things that work
- Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
Preferred qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in an engineering, math or science discipline
- Solid understanding of basic physics and engineering fundamentals
- Demonstrated ability to interpret, distill, and disseminate relevant technical information
- Experience in a cleanroom and working with processes where precision is critical
- Demonstrated ability to visually detect defects and repair in a fast paced environment, and report them when necessary
- Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable; no task is too big or too small
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and constantly changing environment
