  • Design and develop embedded software and firmware frameworks for consumer and medical devices.
  • Work closely with the electrical and hardware design team for designing, building up, verification and benchmarking of our prototypes and final products.
  • Interact actively with the software team to integrate the embedded devices into our bigger software platforms.
  • Participate in the project documentation,
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team meeting,
  • Support medical device lifecycle from product concept to Product release and maintenance.
  • Be part of Design Verification and Validation activities,
  • Apply internal development procedures to the product development teams,
  • Interact and sustain constructive working relationships within project team members to ensure cross-functional customer needs are met without creating barriers to development cost, schedule and performance,
  • Develop and carry out tests to gauge the safety levels of products

 

Job Description

We are looking for an Embedded software / Firmware Engineer to complement our team in the design and implementation of embedded software for our medical devices. You will collaborate with the electronic development engineers and the rest of the team to develop innovative and performant devices. You will be responsible for the planning, design, implementation, verification, and documentation of the embedded software activities.

Your work will positively impact several products of the MindMaze group, ranging from our digital neuro-therapeutics platform, over consumer products till research solutions towards  MindMaze’s future technologies for optimal human to machine interactions. 

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in hardware/software engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial experience
  • Experience with one or more of the following: ARM-Cortex M MCU’s, STM32 libraries, Nordic NRF SDK
  • High personal code standards (code reviews with peers, unit testing, documentation)
  • Experience in Embedded Software in C/C++,  Bluetooth Low Energy stack, in writing low level drivers,  with power consumption optimisation, with RTOS
  • Experience in testing and debugging embedded systems
  • Familiar with the GCC Toolchain, build management, linker scripts, GIT, etc.
  • Good electronic hardware knowledge
  • Knowledge of handling multi-modal multi-rate data streams
  • Experience in signal processing and algorithm design
  • A spirit of collaboration and transparent communication
  • A natural curiosity for new frameworks and technologies
  • Ability to work in a highly regulated environment
  • Good organizational skills
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English (level C1)

 

Valuable complementary skills:

  • Experience in software development and testing for medical devices, e.g. knowledge of IEC 62304 and IEC 60601-1, and software quality best practices
  • Experience with IMUs
  • Experience with ADCs, especially for human signals
  • An agile mindset with experience working within a SCRUM team
  • Fluent in French (speaking)
