Description

We are looking for a research intern or master’s thesis student to assist in a study investigating perceptual (visual) effects of low-medium doses of psilocybin in healthy human volunteers.

The key responsibilities of the student will be

  • carrying out psychophysical measurements,
  • administering questionnaires,
  • analyzing the resulting data. If desired, the candidate will also be able to assist with and learn about fMRI scanning.

Ideal candidates should have a track record showing reliability and motivation to pursue scientific research, and a background/strong interest in neuroscience, psychology, or neighboring fields. Programming experience in python and/or proven ability to independently conduct data analysis is a big plus. The candidate will be able to learn and apply theoretical and practical skills in experimental psychology and neuroimaging.

 

The expected starting date of the project is end of August / beginning of September 2022; the expected duration is approximately 6 to 9 months. The project will be carried out at the Spinoza Centre for Neuroimaging (NIN), Amsterdam, under the supervision of Marco Aqil (project leader), Tomas Knapen, and Serge Dumoulin (principal investigator).
