We are looking for an Electronic Engineer, with a cross- functional skill set. This role will participate in the specification, design, development and NPI of digital and analogue electronics for both external and implantable medical devices.

The position requires working as part of a team and, at times, working as a self-motivated individual. The role may require taking technical leadership within development projects. Tasks include specification development, design, testing and fault finding of digital and analogue electronics for both external and implantable devices. The role includes conducting design and development reviews, producing test plans and, where required, coordinating activities with engineering colleagues and outsourcing partners.

Accountabilities and Associated Responsibilities:
- Independently design and develop electronic hardware for active implantable medical products and test systems performing functions such as stimulation, recording, power management and communication to support the business’s technical and commercial objectives.
- Develop alternative solutions and make recommendations based on key drivers favouring one solution over another.
- Conduct trials to evaluate designs;
- Develop formal test protocols for analogue and digital hardware in line with the broad technical principles of operation of the system;
- Coordinate, organise and participate in design reviews;
- Develop suitable documentation to support requirement development, design, verification, manufacture, and through-life support of Saluda ‘s products;
- Develop and review Saluda Medical’s development methods and tools;
- Review others’ work, proactively identify problems and communicate in a structured manner.
- Work according to ISO 13485, CFR-820 and Saluda ‘s Quality Policies.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronic Engineering (or similar)
- Strong understanding of analogue and digital design principles including amplifier design, transistor characteristics, stability analysis, the nature of components, electromagnetics, circuit analysis, signal processing, state machines etc.
- Have ability and commitment to work in a team
- Ability to work independently
- Proven ability to find innovative solutions to complex problems
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The role will include all aspects of the product development lifecycle including project management activities, supplier liaison, contractor liaison and application of Saluda’s quality management system.
