Overview

We are actively seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I to assist the Principal Investigator (PI) and Supervisor/Manager with the organization, implementation, and completion of clinical research trials. This position will conduct in-person study visits within a longitudinal study using Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Eye Tracking (ET) technologies to assess development of children from infancy to age 3. Additional lab projects will involve the use of EEG and ET, as well as various technological methodologies to assess trajectory and development of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Along with the PI, ensure that research projects are conducted in compliance with federal regulations, institutional policies/departmental guidelines, standards of Good Clinical Practice, and with a commitment to equity and inclusion. The successful candidate will also assist with research-related procedures and clinical activities as outlined and permitted within the Medical Assistant – Registered scope of practice as defined by Washington State Department of Health and Seattle Children’s policy.

Requirements

Required Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience in research or a related field/setting.
• To obtain licensure as a Medical Assistant Registered within 60 days of employment. Required Credentials:
• Current Medical Assistant
• Registered designation by Washington Department of Health (DOH) within 60 days of employment
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) within 60 days of employment. Preferred:
• Research experience with infants and small children.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet or other task management software.
• Familiarity with REDCap or other Electronic Data Capture databases.
• Experience or familiarity with Developmental Disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Comfortable learning how to run computer scripts and engage with data analysis software.
• Familiarity with principles of ALCOA-C.
• Familiarity with Eye Tracking and/or EEG.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines.
• Familiarity with OHRP Human Subject’s Protections regulations and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines.
• Knowledge of software applications, proficiency using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & Access), and ability to learn/use EPIC and other software programs.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Good organizational skills and detail-oriented.
• Able to establish and maintain productive work relationships with staff and patients/families.
• Able to work independently and with appropriate supervision.
• Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Able to work under pressure with tight timelines.
• Knowledge of human growth and development to modify care to the age and development status of the patient population served.
• Knowledge of patient safety according to the assigned department.
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and ability to adapt to the unique needs of families/patients.
