Eye tracking team within FRL-R is working on research to enable eye tracking for everyone and everywhere, which is key to enable many groundbreaking experiences.In this role, you will join a team of software engineers and collaborate with pioneers in research, electrical engineering, firmware engineering, and user experience design. Eye Tracking Applications Software Engineer Responsibilities:
- Work side by side with research scientists, UX designers, electrical engineers and mechanical engineers to enable new experiences in AR and VR
- Analyze, evaluate, design, develop, integrate, debug and test real-time AR and VR software for advanced prototypes, user experiences and hardware
- Build software, tools, infrastructure, documentation and other systems that enable research scientists to be more effective and efficient
- Collaborate with other teams to identify gaps, build solutions and transfer technology
- Perform code reviews that improve software engineering quality
- Collaborate in a team environment across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines, making the architectural tradeoffs required to rapidly deliver software solutions
- Write clean readable code, debug complex problems that span systems, prioritize ruthlessly and get things done with a high level of efficiency
- Learn constantly, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of AR/VR problem solving
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in computational complexity, algorithm design, 3D systems and software design
- Experience with game engines such as Unity3D
- Demonstrated C/C++/C# expertise
- 5+ years of professional programming experience in building real-time, performance sensitive systems
- Experience shipping at least one product of high complexity using standard software development toolsets such as source control and continuous integration systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with toolset or SDK development
- Experience working in AR/VR
