You will create and develop software to control multi-actuator, electro-mechanical systems in Stryker’s medical devices.
As a member of our international project team you will be responsible for the development of complex medical software applications for a Neuro, Spine, and ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) application. You will design software components with UML and create, document and test components of existing and future software in C++/Qt and QML/JavaScript. You will develop a high level of understanding of different medical procedures and how we best deliver the right solutions to our customers and patients. You will also have the opportunity to visit customers and work with marketing to deliver the best software solutions.
What You Will Do:
- You will plan and conduct engineering research, design, development and/or manufacturing engineering projects.
- You will monitor and control progress of projects to ensure sound application of engineering principles are used and design intent is being followed/achieved
- You will collaborate with electrical (hardware) engineers to define microprocessor and interface requirements.
- You will collaborate with other software engineers to develop protocols and interfaces for multi-processor environments.
- You will interface with Stryker’s Quality Assurance Department to guide the development of software verification tests.
- You will provide input to project management on scheduling, milestone achievement, and project challenges.
What You Need:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer engineering, Electrical engineering, or related field required
- 6+ years of related experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing software to control multi-actuator, electro-mechanical systems
- Understanding of software reliability, fault detection/isolation, and performance algorithm techniques.
- Experience in all phases of software development, from concept generation through production
- Understanding of the validation and verification process.
- Deep experience with Linux
- Experience with real time systems and non real time systems
- Deep experience with C++ / QML
- Experience working in SW development teams
- Familiar working in Agile development environment
- Demonstrated ability to translate requirements to design
