We are looking for talented, motivated, and curious front end engineers to establish holistic, scalable UI foundations for our software.  As an early front-end engineer,  you will have many opportunities for ownership and impact by bringing cohesion to our UI based tools, workflows and frameworks that are at the intersection of AI, chemistry, and drug development. The efforts will produce results that will be game changing for AI based drug discovery!

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with machine learning scientists  and computational chemistry scientists, product managers, and engineers to scope new software and feature development  to tackle chemoinformatics and machine learning problems.
• Design, develop, and test front end web applications and UI components for software to support internal tools and pipelines that significantly improve the scientific output for the scientists.
• Foster high-quality and adaptable software using engineering and Agile best practices.
• Learn the process of AI based drug development

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent practical experience
• Expertise in web application development and shipping high-quality products
  • Fluency in Javascript and at least one Javascript framework (e.g., React, Vue, Angular, Typescript); HTML and CSS; and frontend testing frameworks
  • Strong hands-on experience with building UI framework for pluggable applications
• Experience collaborating with backend engineers to establish interfaces between the frontend and backend software.
• Empathy and passion for user experience (particularly around performance, accessibility, and functionality)
• Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with colleagues of various backgrounds and domain expertise.

Bonus

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry or bioinformatics
• Knowledge of UI tools and techniques employed for AI especially in deep learning
• Experience building tools for chemistry, biochemistry and/or drug development
• Keen eye on UX
• Experience with Python
• DB/SQL skills
