Atomwise is looking for an exceptional Head of Engineering to help envision, design, and build the engineering foundations on which its drug-discovery AI expertises are built.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Head of Engineering, you will:

• Lead and grow the Engineering team, including guiding the Engineering process and fostering an open-minded and collaborative culture.
• Build and lead a Product Management team to drive our software projects’ definition by working closely with leadership and scientific stakeholders.
• Coordinate closely with Cheminformaticinas, Machine-Learning, and medicinal-chemistry teams to integrate engineering best-practices into the delivery of internally-developed scientific tools for next-generation Drug Discovery.
• Understand and collaborate on the complete product lifecycle from concept to execution.
• Develop and manage engineering processes, schedules and communicate project status.
• Oversee the development of our data platforms, which facilitate data flow between our drug-discovery projects and our ML Discovery Engine. Enable data recording, predictions, decisions, and outcomes to facilitate continuous performance evaluations and data-driven decisions.
• Set strategy and present recommendations with clarity and concision to stakeholders, having varying degrees of engineering literacy.
• Monitor, maintain, and optimize budgets to meet engineering goals while accommodating production constraints.
• Coach the engineering team and help set and foster challenging, exciting, and rewarding career development plans in the team.
• Continue to improve an effective hybrid local-remote work environment that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion within the expanding team.

Required Qualifications:

• 15+ years experience leading a 30+ person engineering team, covering significant infrastructure and data components.
• 10+ years of experience leading a product management team.
• Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams outside of engineering/product, such as scientific or design.
• Experience in building data platforms that enable efficient data flow at scale between multidisciplinary teams of scientists.
• Experience in building data architectures and providing strategic insight and decision support.
• Strong presentation skills to both business and technical audiences.
• High-level, written and verbal communication skills.
