Pharmaceutical Technician

Role: Pharmaceutical Technician, permanent.
Hours: Full time OR Part time, Monday to Friday, days only with no nights or weekends.
Salary: Starting at £21,000 pa, dependent on experience and qualifications, plus excellent benefits package plus annual bonuses.
Flexible working: Site based role.
Location: Abingdon, OX14 4RZ

 

Aptuit, an Evotec Company, is a pharmaceutical Contract Research organisation, whose aims include developing treatments for everything from cancer to epilepsy. A Pilot Plant Technician is required to support the operation of the pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities by performing essential daily/weekly tasks. The role is full-time or part time and based at our facility on Milton Park near Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, adaptable, resilient, and methodical. Good organisational skills will be required as the role involves running the stores area. Good communication skills are also required as the role will involve frequent interaction with the Pilot Plant Shift Manager/Shift Supervisor, liaising with Warehouse staff, and ensuring that other support tasks are completed. Full training and a specifically tailored development program will be provided.

 

Role responsibilities:

  • Full compliance with Pilot Plant operational and safety procedures.
  • Manage the equipment spare parts area, including maintaining stock levels.
  • Complete relevant documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure that daily tasks around the plant are completed, including equipment calibrations, housekeeping, and maintaining stocks of consumable items.  
  • Checking/sampling/adjusting systems such as purified water generator, chemical tanks, carbon adsorption units.
  • Identify and suggest areas where improvements can be made.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Good communicator, able to liaise between different departments.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Good time management and prioritisation capabilities.  Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently on your own or as part of a team.
  • IT literate with good Microsoft Office skills.
  • Previous experience with warehousing or in the chemical/pharmaceutical industry desirable but by no means essential.

 

The role will report to the Operations Support Supervisor, API Production
