LivaNova Neuromodulation:

As pioneers of the VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulation) Therapy® system, LivaNova continues to advance medical device solutions for patients affected by Drug-Resistant Epilepsy (DRE) and Difficult-to-Treat Depression (DTD).  There are 3 million people in the U.S. alone and one on three people with epilepsy are drug resistant.  People with severe seizures have, on average, a shorter life expectancy and an increased risk of cognitive impairment particularly if the seizures developed in early childhood.  VNS Therapy for DRE is delivered through a device that sends mild pulses to the vagus nerve at regular intervals throughout the day in an effort to prevent seizures.

 

Responsibility And Authority

The Area Coverage Representative will cover vacant territories as directed and reporting to an Area Director.  This role is responsible for achieving the sales expectations of the assigned territories and is expected to partner with Epilepsy Physicians and Neurologists. Success is realized by building strong customer relationships, conducting consultative sales calls, utilizing solid product, technical and clinical knowledge, following a targeted call plan and developing a solid territory plan. This position is also responsible for selling product into hospitals and supporting surgical cases where appropriate.

 

Primary Activities

  • Achieve or exceed sales objectives and be accountable daily for assigned territory.
  • Demonstrate a clinical aptitude to appropriately challenge prescribers and change prescriber habits.
  • Create surgical capacity appropriate for patient demand.
  • Maintain solid territory business plans in a short sales cycle/quota-based system.
  • Demonstrate outstanding product knowledge.
  • Implement routing/targeted call plan. 
  • Complete administrative requirements on time and accurately.
  • Maintain company standards involving ethical and moral character while professionally representing the company.
  • Perform other duties as may be required by management.
  • Conduct consultative sales calls on neurologists and epileptologists, creating surgical capacity appropriate for patient demand and utilizing our case management teams to aid in pulling through the patients.
  • Provide training & supervision to surgeons and other neurologists on VNS for Epilepsy.
  • Visit various healthcare professionals and Epilepsy Patient Advocate Groups. Partner with the Regional Manager and Therapeutic Consultants in the area.

 

Travel Requirements

  • This position may require extensive overnight business travel of 75% or more.

 

Minimum Requirements And Qualifications

Must have:

  • 3 + years of successful selling experience in a medical field, preferably in a consultative role (e.g. Neuroscience Sales, HIV Sales, Oncology Sales, Diabetes Sales), where daily accountabilities are established, measured and rewarded.
  • BS/BA degree, preferably in Marketing or Business.
  • Robust interpersonal skills, with evidence of teamwork and collaboration
  • Be a self-starter and an independent thinker
  • Aptitude to work autonomously
  • Intellectual capacity to interpret trends and data, translating the information into actions and improvements

 

Desired Skills And Qualifications

  • 5 years of successful selling experience in the medical field
  • Public speaking, presenting and facilitation skills
  • Experience educating patients &/or Health Care Professionals alone and in large groups both in person & virtually
