We are searching for a talented AP Laboratory Manager to oversee AP Lab Operations for our newly acquired PathAI Diagnostics Division. This person will be responsible for management and oversight of the AP area of our Diagnostics lab and will report to the VP of Operations at PathAI Diagnostics. The ideal candidate is someone who has strong operational management skills and is ready to apply their skill set in a fast-paced and growing company and is excited to shape the new category of AI-powered pathology. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversees daily operations of the AP Laboratory, including histology and IHC/stains  
• Provides managerial direction to the AP lab and oversees supervisory personnel 
• Oversees staffing of all personnel in the AP laboratory. Maintains staffing by interviewing, hiring, training and providing staff development through performance evaluation and corrective counseling
• Prepares schedules for AP personnel to assure adequate coverage at all times
• Maintains productivity by monitoring workload of functional areas to make operational or staffing adjustments working with lab department supervisors 
• Assures laboratory is in compliance with all local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations and is prepared for inspections, including CAP, CLIA, and individual states
• Complies with state and professional continuing education licensure requirements; Arranges continuing education materials and maintains records for AP laboratory staff
• Maintains medical laboratory equipment performance by establishing quality standards; develops SOPs and troubleshooting procedures and ensures staff compliance 
• Implements new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures through continuous improvement projects. Prepares proposals, develops testing and procedures, and monitors progress
• Trouble-shoots systems to resolve situational workflow and turnaround time challenges
• Continually monitors equipment and recommends upgrades as needed
• Monitors quality assurance programs in cooperation with the Quality Assurance team.  Ensures lab procedures meet quality standards, and maintains quality control records for the laboratory 
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent life science; Master or Ph.D. degree desirable
• 5+ years of medical supervisory experience
• ASCP certification in HTL, HT, and/or PA preferred
• State of Tennessee Laboratory Supervisor license preferred  
• Direct supervision of 5+ Supervisors and/or 25+ employees in a fast-paced and/or high-volume work environment preferred
• Extensive knowledge of laboratory regulations and policies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
