Postdoctoral Fellow in Human Neuroimaging

Image at Dystonia and Speech Motor Control Laboratory

Two NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow positions are available to study brain abnormalities in patients with dystonia and tremor using a combination of structural (MRI, DWI) and functional (fMRI, EEG) neuroimaging techniques, genetics, and clinico-behavioral neurotesting.

The postdoctoral fellows will function as part of a multi-disciplinary team of neuroscientists, geneticists, and clinicians. Responsibilities will include participating in all aspects of imaging data acquisition, analysis and management, developing, modifying and executing image analysis protocols, preparing publications and scientific presentations, disseminating results in peer-reviewed scientific journals and at major national and international meetings, and mentoring junior staff. Opportunities exist for excellent scientific interactions and collaborations with an extensive program of seminars, symposia and other organized meetings focused on a large array of topics in neuroscience and neuroimaging.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A PhD or MD/PhD degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields of biomedical sciences.
  • Expertise in human brain imaging, including but not limited to fMRI, EEG, and DWI.
  • Solid experience with scientific computing, including but not limited to computational (Python, MATLAB) and statistical (AFNI, FSL, SPM) methods.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and collaborate on projects with multiple investigators.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials, including a strong publication record.
