About the role: 

You will work on clinical trials in the Interventional Cardiology therapeutic area and support Senior Biostatisticians with statistical activities related to study design and study execution. You will participate in development of statistical analysis plans, in implementation of statistical methods, in validation of production work of Clinical Research Organization (CRO) partner, and in interpreting of outcomes and methods used. You may lead statistical tasks under supervision of a Senior Biostatistician. Your responsibilities will also include statistical programming work to support in-house clinical projects, and publications.

This role offers the opportunity to expand your skill set in the areas of statistics and statistical programming in clinical setting, medical devices knowledge, and to interface with various stakeholders including CRO in a working environment that encourages showcase your talent and progression. 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in or may lead activities under supervision such as: 
    • Preparation of statistical analysis plan
    • Creation of analysis template and data specification
    • Implementation of statistical method and algorithm in SAS or other tools
    • Interpretation of outcomes and statistical methods
    • CRO oversight      
  • Develop statistical programs using SAS® for statistical analysis and generating report (TFLs), maintains programming documentation as appropriate. Prepare data specification and analysis dataset (ADS)
  • Perform quality control and validation according to departmental processes and procedures
  • Programming standardization and programming support to in-house tasks 
  • You will interact with biostatisticians, scientific writers, physicians / investigators, clinical project managers, and other cross-functional team members.

 

Required qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, biostatistics, or related field
  • Good knowledge of clinical trial processes and data and commonly used statistical methods and tests (e.g. chi-square test, t-test, survival analysis, logistic model, cox model)
  • 2+ years of clinical data analysis experience using SAS® in medical device, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry 
  • Knowledge of SAS® programming language (e.g., Data Step, ODS, SAS/GRAPH, PROC REPORT, PROC MEANS, PROC FREQ)
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • Experience working in a team environment

 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience in Cardiovascular therapeutic area and/or medical devices 
  • Extensive experience in clinical trials
  • Good knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines and standards 
  • Strong knowledge of SAS® programming related to specific statistical methods
