Position Description

The Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor.  The appointee will teach Neuroscience 321 (How the brain works) in the Fall 2022 term. 

Neuroscience 321 (NEUR321) provides an introduction to the fundamentals of neuron and brain function for students outside of the Neuroscience program. Students completing this course will be able to describe the molecular, cellular, physiological and systems, underpinnings of nervous systems and their functions. Students will be able to discuss the functioning of brain systems underlying sensation, cognition, behaviour, and disease.  

  • The successful candidate will have a PhD in a neuroscience-related discipline and a broad background in fundamental and applied neuroscience.
  • The candidate must be flexible, reliable, and student-oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with undergraduate teaching in relevant areas of neuroscience and the University of Calgary online teaching environment and systems will be considered advantageous.
