Job Reports To: Director, Operations

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Position Overview
This position will oversee purchasing and planning activities. These activities are not limited to, procurement of raw materials, inventory control, materials management, and production planning. Prepares production schedules and ensures materials are kitted to meet production schedules and/or products are shipped as per marketing schedules.
Key Qualifications
- 1 Year experience in purchasing/planning
- Proficient using MS Office & working with MRP/ERP systems
- Experience in inventory maintenance, cycle counting, and material transfers
- Knowledge of (GMP) Good Manufacturing Practices as required by the FDA Quality System Regulation or other regulatory agencies
- Must have good organizational skills, be thorough, and detail-oriented
- Must have excellent reading, writing, and communication skills in the English language
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to handle stressful situations
- Must have excellent people skills
- Able to maintain records accurately
Specific Skills / Competencies Desired
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- CPIM Certification
- Lean Manufacturing Certification
- Six Sigma Certification
- Familiar with MRP concepts
Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for purchasing activities related to the procurement of materials, parts, equipment, and services for the company
- Ensures materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory, and finished goods, packaged according to specification, and shipped in a timely manner
- Manages the Non-conforming materials ensuring that they are reported, transacted in the ERP system, and follows up to ensure they are completed in a timely manner
- Develops, implements, and maintains standard operating procedures for purchasing compliance to the quality system
- Evaluates and performs continuous improvements methods to streamline and improve the procurement system
- Evaluates vendor reliability, and develop new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate
- Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures
- Maintains Approved Vendor List and vendor surveys
- Monitors cost and schedule to assure the best quality at the best value
- Maintain compliance with the company’s Quality Systems
- Maintains Costs and Planning Data in the ERP System
- Plans, implements, and maintains activities related to raw materials and finished goods
- Reviews and plans material requirements to meet production schedules and ensure inventory levels are maintained and/or products are shipped on time
- Assist in implementing and maintaining the MRP system
- Maintain compliance with the company’s Quality Systems
