This is a hybrid position based in London, members of the engineering team are required to be in the office on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Your mission

• Translate ideas into clear code, written to be read as well as executed
• Follow through on your commitments, take responsibility for your work and deliver your work on time
• Design, implement and maintain tests, infrastructure and tools
• Understand and effectively participate in the core processes of the team
• Ensure that your code is well documented, reviewed, and tested 
• Develop as a Subject-Matter Expert (SME) within your work domain and be a mentor to other software engineers within the team

From day one in this role, we’ll expect you to have

• Extensive back-end development experience (Python, Flask or Django and their ecosystems such as Celery and Redis)
• Excellent understanding of best practices and the ability to engage with the creative team to deliver pragmatic solutions, balancing design, quality and velocity
• Excellent understanding of back-end layered architecture (REST-API architecture) and use of design patterns
• Excellent understanding of Databases (SQL or NoSQL especially MongoDB and Redis)
• Strong OO & problem-solving skills with an appreciation for pragmatism and simplicity in code
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation and external 3rd parties/suppliers

It’s great, but not required, if you have

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline
• Knowledge of using containers, and cloud technologies (Docker)
