Description
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for leading the Accounts Payable, and related processes. This role will also be involved in internal and external financial reporting and the ongoing development and maintenance of robust financial accounting systems, processes, and controls. The role is a mixture of hands-on detailed work and leading other accounting professionals.
Responsibilities
- Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables for assigned areas (e.g., accounts payable, accruals, costs and expenses, sales & use tax)Own AP and manage all of the day-to-day activities in the assigned areas, including supporting and managing the accounting staff
- Oversee the invoice payment process, including the planning of staff utilization, verification, posting, monitoring for timely payment
- Oversees and assists in the creation of policies and procedure documentation for related financial processes
- Works with the FP&A team to analyze and communicate financial performance to executive and other management
- Lead and participate in various cross-functional initiatives to optimize and improve financial systems and processes
- Perform special projects, as required, to assist the department and the Company in achieving its goals and objectives
- Support the implementation of SOX program
- Assist in auditors’ reviews with regards to AP to help facilitate an optimal audit process
- Direct the production and filing of annual 1099 forms to vendors and the IRS to ensure all deadlines are met
- Assist in Sunshine Act/ Open Payment
- Set up corporate entities in new states
- Manage Cash/Treasury
- Other duties may be assigned as appropriate
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years minimum work experience, preferably with at least 3 of those years in financial operations/general ledger area and managing a team
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-faced environment, with strong project management skills and the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
- Results-oriented with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude and strong desire to learn and to knowledge-share
- Strong interpersonal, excellent supervisory and customer service skills required
- Excellent written and strong communication as the role will be responsible for managing team members as well as reporting to higher management
- Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word – QAD or similar ERP a must, Coupa, SAP Concur experience preferred
