Why Max Kelsen?
We are a rapidly growing company that believes in providing opportunities for career progression. Culturally we want our team to be open, honest, and challenge each other to be better. This does not mean we are perfect, but it does mean that we have a burning desire to keep on improving.
When you come on board at Max Kelsen, you will tackle challenging problems and work with interesting clients including Fortune 500 companies, often building solutions that have never been implemented before. Recently, these have included an application that helps to slow degenerative eye disease in children, and another that improves the effectiveness of skin cancer therapies.
The Role:
We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the team at Max Kelsen. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will lead and execute projects with clients from a wide range of industries, using your skills to architect, build, tune and deploy machine learning solutions to solve real-world consulting and research problems. You will be a part of a team of talented engineers and apply your skills to a variety of challenging problems, with a focus on sending cutting-edge models through to production and assisting in developing the internal engineering team.
You will be joining a growing team of Machine Learning Engineers who work across professional services (consulting) and product development. In order to solve problems across a variety of projects, we maintain a strong emphasis on knowledge transfer and skill exchanges within the ML team which we achieve both formally (Code Reviews, coaching & mentoring) and informally (Fortnightly ML catch up sessions).
Max Kelsen is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We are aware that some individuals tend to only apply for jobs when they meet 100% of the criteria. If you think you have what it takes, but don’t necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We’d love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit!

- Deep experience in a wide variety of modelling techniques (including unsupervised, tabular, vision, NLP, time-series) and libraries (including sklearn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience on R&D focussed projects, such as implementing approaches from papers or conducting robust experimental analyses of a selection of techniques.
- Strong software engineering skills and ability to review and improve an existing codebase using best practices, with experience deploying and maintaining machine learning models in production.
- Experience with cloud computing technologies, familiarity with provisioning and managing cloud resources
- Can create and deliver project presentations and results to client stakeholders in a clear and professional manner
