We seek a creative, highly motivated Principal Scientific Researcher to join our Neuroscience discovery team and pursue innovative treatments for CNS diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. The individual will use a variety of molecular, biochemical, cellular and in vivo approaches to investigate cellular processes underlying neurodegeneration, such as proteinopathies, and explore therapeutic approaches to reverse these processes. S/he will be expected to independently design, execute and analyze experiments, and interact and communicate with other groups as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team. This is a hands-on laboratory position with abundant opportunity for collaboration with other researchers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Applicants should have a relevant PhD with a strong research background in molecular and cellular neuroscience.
  • Qualified candidates will have expertise in a wide range of in vitro and in vivo techniques for understanding and manipulating biological pathways.
  • Proficiency with primary rodent and human neural cell cultures, including the ability to manipulate gene expression, is desired.
  • Experience using genetically modified mouse models for histological, biochemical and transcriptomic/proteomic analysis is also preferred.
  • A track record of answering important biological questions, overcoming challenging technical problems, and publishing research findings in high quality scientific journals is required.
  • Critical thinking skills and an internal passion for scientific discovery are essential.
