The Role:
- One of the senior most technical members in delivery and software design of our cross-platform React Native mobile application for patients
- Lead the technical direction of our mobile strategies for the next 6-12 months
- Identify new business value with product leadership
- Developing technical implementation strategies to iteratively delivery value:
- A/B testing
- data driven decision making
- hypothesis driven development
- Mentor/Sponsor mobile engineers (1:1 and as a team) through leadership by example example:
- React/React Native development best practices
- iOS/Android native development best practices
- Proactively working across the “full product stack” of our systems/people/processes:
- Web/Mobile/APIs/Data/Design systems/Product
- Building and deploying mobile applications & services in a cloud-infrastructure environment
- API Design in partnership with backend, platform, and feature engineering teams
- Work with a global team of engineers that are designing, building, and maintaining large-scale mobile applications focused on the patient experience
- Deliver industry leading mobile experiences, value, and engineering excellence by:
- Introducing new technologies, processes, or techniques to work more effectively
- Identifying architectural patterns to create code that is:
- Testable/Composable/Reusable
- Creating automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies
- Fostering a security-first mindset for the team
- Consistently helping their teams overcome obstacles and proactively resolving blockers
- Support what is built, including monitoring, performance tuning, and responding to incidents
- Find opportunities to accelerate the roadmap and design systems that anticipate future use cases
- Contribute to the delivery and crafting of our OKRs, work with the product team to define KPIs and meet SLAs

Skills you’ll bring:
- Experience being the most senior engineer across a few scrum teams in delivering a cross-platform mobile app in a remote first, fast-paced, startup environment
- Deep knowledge in the React, React-Native ecosystems in advanced topics
- Experience in either iOS or Android development in:
- Native development for a specific platform (building in Swift/Obj-C/Kotlin/Java)
- Bridging native code to React Native
- Proven experience in being a multiplier of top-tier engineering talent, with stories around efficiencies both in your direct mobile specialization, as well as stories around cross specialization efficiencies (DevOps, Data, Backend, FrontEnd, et. al.)
- Creating psychological safety: demonstrated ways of allowing your team to learn, fail, and experiment while balancing major impacts to the business.
- Best in class testing practices to improve the quality of our mobile application by ensuring complete test automation across the testing pyramid
About You:
- Mission driven leader, with deep hands on leadership and experience in “making a dent in the universe”
- Prioritization of team goals vs. giving team members psychological safety to learn and grow by deciding on high impact, low-level decisions quickly, balanced with being patient/strategic about with high-level ones
- Demonstrate strong technical architecture and platform engineering skills and ability to switch between technology paradigms
- Adept at prioritizing value and shipping complex products while coordinating across multiple teams
- Energized by working with some of the best, world-class engineers, product managers, and architects
- Drive diversity, inclusion and belonging (DE&I) by investing time, energy, and mentoring/sponsoring individuals with less privilege, access, and show high potential.
Bonus Experiences:
- Experience in creating white-label mobile applications based on a monolithic react-native codebase
- Exposure to mobile device management (MDM) systems, and designing enterprise-wide adoption of in-house native applications that are in a highly regulated environment.
- Experience creating design systems across mobile, web, and driving adoption across an organization: serving the double goal of systems adoption (StoryBook, etc) as well as design standardization across the organization
- Experiences with other cross-platform technologies and their use-cases (Flutter, Electron, Cordova, etc.)
