We are looking for a commercially-minded privacy professional to join our growing global Privacy team. Advising on all privacy matters with a focus on global privacy and data protection issues across the business, you will be a trusted voice for all critical business decisions.
By joining the Privacy team, you will contribute to solving their key challenges of developing Huma’s legal infrastructure and creatively issue spotting as we expand into new ventures.
Your mission
- Support and assist the Data Protection Officer
- Supporting and advising across the business on data protection laws including UK and EU GDPR and handling of customer and patient data
- Assisting in the provision of a privacy advice on and help deliver transformational business projects in compliance with applicable privacy and data protection laws
- Collaborating with international cross-functional teams and partners on a variety of products and services to ensure privacy compliance and advise on cutting-edge privacy challenges
- Driving improvement and implementation of the global privacy program across Huma’s international business verticals, including record of processing activities (ROPAs), data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), legitimate interest assessments (LIAs), transfer impact assessments (TIAs), supplier and vendor management, and, running a privacy champions network
- Providing assistance with data protection audits, reviews, and assessments, where required
- Preparing and performing privacy and data protection training, where needed
- Supporting your colleagues on broader commercial advice and contract negotiations and drafting, including data processing agreements, standard contractual clauses, and internal policies
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and tasks, where required
From day one in this role, we’ll expect you to have
- A UK or EU experienced privacy professional solicitor with a minimum of 8 years in-house experience (In-house experience within a tech or software company preferred)
- Experience with UK and European Laws required
- Experience in a similar role with great exposure on data protection and privacy issues
- Strong experience advising on privacy and data protection requirements, with emphasis on use of EU/UK data in a variety of complex scenario
- Strong interpersonal, commercial and team skills
- Confident and able to work with senior management
- Knowledge of OneTrust software
It’s great, but not required, if you have
- Qualified solicitor of England and Wales
- Experience in general commercial contracts
