The Regional Business Leader has a significant opportunity to drive the launch of the organization’s first rare disease brand. This first line leader role will serve as a critical resource to their team and the organization as an authority in disease state, selling process, product knowledge, and customer engagement. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales activity and providing leadership to a team of Area Business Managers. To be successful you must be a strategic, resourceful, and forward-thinking leader who can quickly work to enable their team’s success.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and develop top performing Area Business Managers.
  • Build a patient-focused culture and exemplify it by establishing positive relationships directly with stakeholders in the Rett community.
  • Empower and inspire a team toward a common vision.
  • Evaluate Area Business Manager behaviors and alignment to Acadia’s values – providing recognition or identifying development areas as appropriate.
  • Conduct field visits and follow-up reports to coach Area Business Managers on the key principles of customer engagement, cross-functional collaboration, territory, and account management.
  • Provide strong leadership in the development and implementation of regional business plans.
  • Utilize analytical tools to determine how to accomplish sales objectives and apply resources to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers. Anticipate emerging trends impacting regional business. 
  • Participate in corporate projects across various organizational functions that impact the greater organization in the community.
  • Support the Commercial Brand team in the development of resources that will advance organizational business objectives

 

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical experience
  • 3+ years in a sales leadership role
  • Demonstrated success in rare disease or specialty pharmaceuticals required
  • Previous rare disease launch experience strongly preferred
  • Exposure and/or experience in other functional areas of the business (e.g., sales training, sales operations, managed care, and marketing) preferred
  • Experience building and managing relationships with key customers and networks within the medical community.
  • Experience complying to strict policy, working in a highly regulated environment, and maintaining confidential information and data.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must live within the boundaries of the region or a directly neighboring region, and near a major airport as significant overnight travel may be required.
  • Ability to travel independently by car or airplane up to 70%
  • Employee must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 in accordance with our policy and third-party requirements and also meet all additional local, state, and federal vaccination requirements for conducting in-person field coaching days, customer visits, admittance into local Community HCP Offices, as well as for attendance at Medical Congresses and Local Conferences for in person participation and exhibiting.

 

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment and independently of remote locations. Employee must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 in accordance with our policy and in order to meet any independent vaccination requirements that our clients and client facilities may have. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Ability to travel by car or airplane independently up to 70% of the time and work after hours if required by travel schedule or business issues.
