Position Summary:
The Associate Medical Director will lead and assist the Executive Director, Medical Affairs in primary Rett Syndrome activities related to scientific congresses, advisory boards, scientific exchange, and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationship development. You will be asked to help us represent the medical team in some cross-functional forums. Not limited to regulatory, clinical development, commercial, market access, and legal.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in investigator-initiated trial submissions
- Support development and implementation of Phase IV studies
- Take part in developing strategy around medical education and gap assessment
- Present at selected external medical meetings at internal meetings
- Establish appropriate strategic partnerships with centers of excellence, advocacy groups and KOLs in areas of scientific interest.
- Build and maintain global, clinical, and medical affairs strategies in conjunction with commercial counterparts.
- Review Standard Operating Procedures and Clinical Study Reports as needed
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Medical Doctor (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) preferred but will also consider other degreed candidates (PhD. PharmD)
- Experience in rare disease areas highly preferred
- Work experience in pediatrics or neurology is preferred
- Shown experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
- Strong verbal/written communication skills
- Exercises judgment within well-defined practices and policies. Works with some supervision and mentorship in a matrixed environment.
- Demonstrates leadership ability
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment and independently of remote locations. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
